Karbala: Imam Hussain Holy Shrine continues work on the project to shelter the homeless

The Strategic Projects Department of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is continuing the construction works on the project to shelter the homeless in the holy province of Karbala.

Project supervisor, Engineer Sajjad Abdul-Amir Badr, said that “the construction works are being completed at a high pace, and our workers were able to complete the first phase of the main concrete structure of the project, which measures an area of 6552 m2.”

He explained that "the project consists of the main building with six floors. The ground floor includes administrative offices, workshops, central kitchen, indoor gardens, restrooms, and electricity and communications rooms. As for the first floor, it includes medical examination rooms, inpatient rooms, pharmacy, computer laboratories, restaurant, restrooms, and electricity and communications rooms. The second floor includes a prayer room, a lecture hall, a central library, administrative offices, restrooms, and electricity and communications rooms.”

The third, fourth and fifth floors each contain 18 bedrooms, laundry rooms, storages, restrooms, in addition to parking lots and a sports field.
