Al-Askariyain Holy Shrine holds the second annual ‘Khatim Al-Awsiya’ International Festival
The Al-Askariyain Holy Shrine held the second annual Khatim Al-Awsiya International Festival, under the slogan (The Radiance of the Sky in the Land of Samarra) on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the Twelfth Imam, Imam Al-Mahdi (may Almighty hasten his honorable reappearance), in the presence of the Holy Shrine’s Secretary-General, Dr. Muhammad Qassem, and religious and academic figures from around the world.
The blessed ceremony kicked off with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, recited by the Al-Askariyain Holy Shrine reciter, Ishaq Al-Attiyah, followed by the welcoming speech delivered by the head of the Religious Affairs Department, Sheikh Muhammad Al-Khalidi, in which it stated: “On behalf of the General Secretariat of the Al-Askariyain Holy Shrine and members of the Board of Directors, we congratulate all Muslims worldwide on the blessed birth anniversary of the Imam of Our Time, Imam Mahdi (may Almighty hasten his honorable reappearance), on the 15th of Shabaan. It is inevitable that the Mahdist belief has an impact on the life of the individual and society as a whole. We live in the era of the Imamate of the Imam (peace be upon him), who sees all of our deeds and actions.”
Sheikh Muhammad Al-Khalidi added that “we must pray to Allah to hasten the blessed reappearance of the Imam (peace be upon him) to bring justice to this world and save humanity.”
The festival included various activities, including poetry sessions in honor of the occasion, as well as supplications to hasten the reappearance of the Imam (peace be upon him).
