Quran reciter of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine wins runner-up in international Quran competition held in Qatar

Hajj Osama Al-Karbalaey, one of the Quran reciters of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, won second place in the Katara International Quran Competition held in the State of Qatar, in which more than 1270 reciters from 70 countries participated.

Karrar Al-Shammari, Director of the Quranic Media Center at the Holy Shrine, said in a statement to the International Media Center that “the reciter and muezzin of the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Hajj Osama Al-Karbalaey, won second place in the Katara International Quran Competition after he qualified for the final rounds with 100 participants out of 1270 participants from seventy Arab and foreign countries.”

Al-Shammari added, "The Quran House of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is keen to participate in international Quran competitions and sessions in order to amaze the Islamic world with the talented reciters sponsored by the Holy Shrine. One of those competitions is the Katara Quran recitation competition in the State of Qatar.”

The competition aims to discover new talented reciters and introduce them to the Islamic world, in addition to motivating young generations to recite the Holy Book.
