Karbala expects the arrival of more than 20 million pilgrims to participate in Arbaeen Pilgrimage

The local government in Holy Karbala expects that the number of pilgrims arriving to the province during the Arbaeen Pilgrimage will reach more than 20 million.

Karbala Governor Nassif al-Khattabi said in a press conference, that “the number of pilgrims on the Arbaeen day of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, this year from inside and outside Iraq may reach more than 20 million.”

Al-Khattabi pointed out, “All departments have been put on high alert to provide their services to the pilgrims coming towards the holy Karbala to revive the pilgrimage.”

Over 9000 service Mawkibs are set up around the holy city to provide the pilgrims with food, drink and accommodation.
