Karbala Days International Festival for Theater launched in Karbala

The activities of the Karbala Days International Festival of Theater, which is organized by the Contemporary Theater Division of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, have kicked off at the Culture and Arts hall in Karbala.

Deputy Secretary-General of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Dr. Alaa Dhiya al-Din said, "The Karbala Days Festival for International Theater in its third edition launched its activities and achieved important results and successes since the first day, as the Holy Shrine is always supporting and sponsoring humanitarian projects and activities in various fields.”

He added, "Theater has also had important stages in the lives of peoples and stories throughout the ages, including the Husseini Theater, which has a major role in transmitting the blessed Husseini culture to the world.”

For his part, the official of the Contemporary Theater Division and director of the Karbala Days International Festival, Muntadhar al-Taweel, said, "The festival included several theatrical performances from Arab countries, and a committee was formed to evaluate, sort and select from a total of 58 theatrical performances."

Al-Taweel stressed, "There are prizes for the winning performances, which are divided into the best theatrical work, the best directing, the best actor and the best script."
