Official delegation from Imam Hussain Holy Shrine arrives in Peshawar to offer condolences to families of the Shia mosque victims

An official delegation from the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain arrived in the Pakistani city of Peshawar to visit the families of the victims of the terrorist bombing that targeted a Shia mosque, and to participate in offering condolences and support the families of the victims and conveying the condolences of the Supreme Religious Authority.

"The visit came to offer condolences to the families of the victims of the terrorist act that targeted Shia worshipers in the Kucha Mosque in Peshawar, while they were performing the congregational Friday prayer," said Fadhil Awaz, head of the delegation, to the IMC.

"We presented excerpts from the statement of the Supreme Religious Authority represented by Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali Al-Sistani, which the martyrs' families expressed that it eased their pain and that this visit has a great impact in their hearts.”

The delegation's presence witnessed great interest from the people of the city and the security forces due to the sensitivity of the security situation, and the mosque and roads were crowded with large numbers of Peshawar residents to welcome the delegation coming to their city.

On 4 March 2022, ISIS terrorists attacked a Shia mosque in Peshawar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan, killing dozens and wounding many others.
