The history of the emergence of Islam in England and how it spread

Large numbers of Muslims flocked to England since the time of the Crusades in the Arab countries, and Islamic contact with England increased during the industrial revolution in the modern era. England imposed its influence and control over some Arab Muslim countries, and this matter greatly helped to increase the friction between Muslims and the British, which contributed to the conversion of large numbers of them to the Islamic religion.

The immigration of Muslims from Arab countries to England has contributed to the increase in the presence of Muslims there for several purposes, the most important of which is travel for work or study.

Spread of Islam in England

Migration is a key factor in the emergence of Islam in England. Most Muslims are immigrants from South Asia, specifically from Bangladesh, Pakistan and northern India, in addition to other immigrants from various regions such as the Middle East, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Somalia, and some African countries, including Nigeria and Uganda.

In the eighteenth century, large numbers of Muslims flocked to England, most of them were sailors who were recruited from the Indian subcontinent, specifically from the Bengal region, in order to work for the East India Company on board English ships, and some Muslim sailors settled in England, and thus the formation of the first Islamic community in the port cities.

With the beginning of the nineteenth century, the number of sailors heading to England increased by 1,000 Muslim passengers annually, and their number reached 12 thousand passengers annually by the end of the nineteenth century, and their enemies Muslim travelers continued to rise and spread throughout England.

The number of Muslims in England

Statistics confirm the continued rise in the number of Muslims in England, despite the existence of allegations and actions rejected by Islam aimed at distorting the image of Islam.

There are over three million Muslims in England, and this number is constantly increasing as a result of many individuals converting to Islam in the country.
