Construction work underway to complete al-Shifaa Hospital in Baghdad with a capacity of 150 beds

The administration of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through its Technical and Engineering Projects Department, announced the continuation of work on the project to establish al-Shifaa Hospital in the city of al-Shula, Baghdad, in support of the efforts of the Ministry of Health in confronting the Coronavirus pandemic.

Head of the department, Eng. Hussein Redha Mahdi, said, "The department's staff are making double efforts to complete al-Shifaa Hospital in the city of al-Shula within the planned time."

He explained that "the hospital has a capacity of 150 beds, with two wards for women and men, in addition to a hall for major operations, and another for maternity, in addition to consulting clinics, two emergency wards (women and men), intensive care beds, and four beds for dialysis.”

The al-Shifaa Hospital will be equipped with negative-pressure systems for ventilation and cooling, as well as indoor and outdoor gardens, and parking lots for ambulances.

Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has established 24 hospitals and health centers in most Iraqi provinces, 18 of which have been opened so far, and work is still ongoing to complete 6 others, in support of the efforts of the Ministry of Health in confronting the Coronavirus pandemic.
