Imam Hussain Holy Shrine sets opening date for the Oncology Hospital in Basra

The Strategic Projects Department at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced the continuation of work on the Oncology Hospital project in Basra province, indicating that it is hoped to open in 2022.

The head of the department, Eng. Muhammad Diaa, said, "The total completion rate of the project has reached 64%, and it is hoped to go into operation by the end of 2022.”

He explained that the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine adopted the establishment of this project in order to serve people with cancer and provide them with the best services, in accordance with the specifications and standards set by the Ministry of Health.

"The project will provide curative and preventive services using the latest methods and modern devices of international origin,” added Diaa.

The Oncology Hospital project area is 20000 m2 with a capacity of 42 beds, and it contains consulting clinics, medical equipment rooms, halls for chemotherapy and physical therapy, inpatient rooms, in addition to other service rooms and facilities.

Imam Hussain Holy Shrine had earlier announced on its official website that it will implement humanitarian and service projects in a number of central and southern provinces after increasing demands from residents of those provinces.
