Iraq: one-of-a-kind specialty cardiac hospital implemented by Imam Hussain Holy Shrine reaches 36% completion rate

The Strategic Projects Department at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced the continuation of work on the Khatam al-Anbiya Hospital project to treat cardiovascular diseases in Karbala province.

Project manager Maitham Shaker said, “The engineering and technical staffs of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine are continuing their work on the Khatim al-Anbiya Hospital project to treat cardiovascular diseases in Karbala," indicating that the overall completion rate of the project reached 36%.”

Shaker explained that the project is one of the Holy Shrine’s exceptional health projects serving the Iraqi citizens, especially those suffering from heart disease.

“The area of ​​the project is 35,000 square meters, with a capacity of 141 beds, and is located in the Bahadeliya area in the holy city. The project is being built according to the latest international specifications and standards followed by health institutions in developed countries.”

Khatim al-Anbiya Hospital consists of two 11-storey buildings, one for public services, and the other dedicated to wards, with an area of ​​2,600 square meters for each floor, in addition to five wards for open heart surgeries, and four for angiography and resuscitation.

Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is implementing many service, humanitarian and health projects to serve the Iraqi people, especially the families of martyrs, orphans and those with limited income, for free.
