The Shrine holds an international conference under the slogan (Freedom of opinion and coexistence)

The Imam Hussain Foundation for Dialogue and Peacebuilding, affiliated with the Holy Shrine, held its international conference under the slogan "Freedom of opinion and coexistence."

Waleed al-Ba'aj, a preparatory committee member, said, "The organisation is interested in dialogue, coexistence, peacebuilding, and civil peace in many countries, as it has made many contributions inside and outside Iraq by holding several conferences and meetings."

He pointed out, "The concept of freedom has taken several aspects, as each group uses it according to their agenda, desires, and benefits; therefore, they use it to scorn religions, burning the Holy Quran, homosexuality, and changing genders, as this term opened the path for recklessness and moral deviation."

He stated, "The conference had five axes, divided into two morning sessions and an evening session, and the conference included the attendance of several dignitaries and elite religious scholars from religious Hawza in Najaf, Al-Azhar Al-Shareef in Egypt, Al-Zaytoonah University in Tunisia, the Council of Indonesian Scholars in Jakarta, and religious sects in Iraq, in addition to inviting the Catholic Church, a group of Christian sects, Greek and Orthodox, as well as various countries from Hungary, Syria, Egypt, Lebanon, and others."

In conclusion, the Shrine's Secretary-General, Mr Hassan Rasheed Al-Abaiji, spoke at the conference about the importance of respecting religions and spreading coexistence between all people."
