Research center in Karbala opens prospects for joint scientific cooperation with the French National Library in Paris
A delegation from the Karbala Center for Studies and Researches, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, visited the French National Library in Paris to discuss mechanisms of joint scientific cooperation.
The head of the delegation and director of the center, Abdul Amir al-Quraishi, said, "The visit included a meeting with officials of the Oriental Manuscripts Department at the French National Library, and prospects for joint scientific cooperation were discussed with regard to the exchange of scientific, cultural and historical experiences."
Al-Quraishi added, "An invitation was submitted to the library management to visit Iraq and view the rare and precious books and manuscripts in its libraries.”
The library of the Karbala Center was built in 1980 and contains more than 25 million books in various scientific, cultural and humanitarian fields, as well as ancient historical manuscripts.
The Manuscripts Department in the French National Library expressed its full readiness to extend bridges of joint scientific cooperation between the Library and the Center to advance the public’s scientific interest.
