Indonesian hopes become the largest manufacturer of halal products and calls to transform the country into a global halal product

Indonesian Vice President Ma'ruf Amin affirmed that the Indonesian state will become the largest manufacturer and exporter of halal products in the world due to its great potential and government support.

In his speech at the opening ceremony of the Virtual Muslim Industrial Fair in Indonesia, Ma'ruf Amin said, "Given the various capabilities that we have besides government support, I am optimistic that Indonesia will become the largest producer of halal products in the world."

He added that the Indonesian government has developed a comprehensive legal economic plan from 2019 to 2024 with four main strategies.

The Vice President of Indonesia also cited data from the World Population Report, stressing that the number of Muslims worldwide has reached 1.9 billion, and the country of Indonesia has the largest number of Muslims in the world.

Amin called on the ministers responsible to transform the country into a global halal producer in the fields of food and beverages, fashion, pharmacy, cosmetics and tourism.
