Multinational tourist delegation visits the heritage sites in Basra

A multinational tourist delegation from foreign countries visited the Islamic archaeological, heritage and civilization sites in Basra, southern Iraq.

The Director of Basra Antiquities and Heritage, Mr. Mustafa Jassim Muhammad, said in a special statement to the International Media Center that “a multinational delegation from Russia, Britain, Germany and France visited us in order to see Basra’s heritage and archaeological sites,” explaining that “the delegation expressed its great admiration for the sites. They said that the heritage of Basra is made up of a mixture of Islamic, Ottoman and Indian civilizations.”

He added, "The Basra Antiquities and Heritage Department welcomes all foreign tourists who come from different nationalities and countries, and we provide them with all the explanations related to the heritage and antiquities of Basra."

Muhammad pointed out that the department provided "all facilities, information and details to the visiting delegation in order to know the importance of these Islamic civilizations, antiquities and the ancient heritage, as well as providing the required services such as housing, transportation, full security services and other services."
