The delegation of the Iraqi national football team visited the Holy Shrine of the Commander of the Faithful, Imam Ali (peace be upon him), after winning the 25th Arabian Gulf Cup, which was hosted by Basra province.

The head coach of the national team, Jesus Casas, said in a statement, "Before my work as coach of the Iraqi national team, I saw the history of Iraq, and among what I saw was the personality of Ali bin Abi Talib, but when I entered here, I was surprised by the beauty of the building and the perfection of its archeological sites and the decorations that were engraved on it."

The captain of the national team, Jalal Hassan, said in a statement, "We congratulate our Iraqi people for winning this tournament, and we were honored by this visit. I pray for more success in the upcoming tournaments."

It is noteworthy that the Department of Public Relations at the Holy Shrine presented memorabilia gifts to the players on their achievement.
