The Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in Karbala directs the treatment of 20 children diagnosed with cancer

The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority and the Chief Cleric of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine instructed the treatment of 20 children diagnosed with cancer from Al-Muthanna Province in the Holy Shrine’s health and medical institutions.

The General Coordinator for Humanitarian Affairs at the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Ahmed Al-Khafaji, said in a statement, "The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi Al-Karbalaey instructed to follow up the humanitarian cases and appeals that are spread on social media and satellite channels, and during his presence at the congregational prayers in the Holy Shrine’s courtyard, more than 20 children from Al-Muthanna Province who suffer from cancer gathered around His Eminence. After explaining their situation to him, Sheikh Al-Karbalaey directed that they receive free treatment in the Holy Shrine’s health institutions as their province lacks adequate medical institutions.”

Al-Khafaji added, "The message sent by the Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) is that these medical institutions are non-profit, and were established to serve all Iraqi people regardless of their religious affiliation, nationality, or sect."
