Imam Hussain Holy Shrine spends 6 billion dinars in scholarships and discounts for underprivileged students and children of martyrs at the universities of Al-Zahra and Warith al-Anbiya

The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him) spent nearly 6 billion Iraqi dinars at the Universities of Al-Zahra and Warith al-Anbiya, during the 2022 school year as grants for underprivileged students, children of martyrs, and other groups.

The head of the University Education Authority at the Holy Shrine, Dr. Haider al-Temimi said in a statement, "The main objectives of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s universities are not profitable, but rather to provide opportunities for those who are unable to continue their studies due to financial poverty.”

Al-Temimi added, "During this year, the amounts spent for scholarships and discounts approved by the ministry and the discounts that come from Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalaey, at the University of Warith al-Anbiya have reached 4 billion dinars, and two billion at Al-Zahra University."

Al-Temimi affirmed, "We gave this year's College of Medicine 153 free scholarships to students whose averages qualify them for private studies, but the living situation prevented that, as the Holy Shrine provided them with this opportunity."

Underprivileged students and children of martyrs are included in the scholarships.
