Najaf hosts Conference of Secretary-Generals of Holy Shrines from Iraq, Iran and Syria

The holy province of Najaf hosted the Conference of Secretary-Generals of Holy Shrines from inside and outside Iraq, in the presence of the head of the Shia Endowment Bureau, and the participation of representatives of Imam Ali Holy Shrine, Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, al-Abbas Holy Shrine, al-Askariyain Holy Shrine, al-Kadhumayn Holy Shrine, Lady Zainab Holy Shrine and Imam Redha Holy Shrine.  

The conference was held at Imam Ali Holy Shrine on Friday July 22, 2022, with the aim of developing joint programs between holy shrines to enhance the pilgrim service.

The Chairman of the Shia Endowment Bureau, Dr. Haider al-Shammari, said in a statement, “The general secretariats work with the blessing and assignment of the Supreme Religious Authority, represented by Grand Ayatollah Sayyid Ali al-Sistani, and this assignment and honor aims to serve the pilgrims in addition to the service and construction projects, and there joint programs to build the pilgrims, their personality, their religious culture, and their obligations towards the Imams of Ahlulbayt (peace be upon them).”

Al-Shammari added, “This meeting will be the basis for upcoming meetings, during which various experiences of the holy shrines will be exchanged.”

For his part, the head of the Iranian Endowment and Charitable Affairs Organization, Mr. Mahdi Khamooshi, said, "We extend our thanks and appreciation to the General Secretariat of Imam Ali Holy Shrine for hosting the meeting, which aims to strengthen relations between the holy shrines, thus contributing to strengthening the services provided to pilgrims and strengthening other cultural and ideological fields."
