Karbala: The Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority sponsors treatment of paralyzed girl

Imam Hussain Holy Shrine’s Imam Zain al-Abiden Hospital announced that it will sponsor the treatment of a young girl, who was paralyzed as a result of random shootings, with the cost of treatment amounting to 23 IQD (equal to about $16,000).

The General Coordinator of Humanitarian Affairs at the Holy Shrine, Ahmed Redha Al-Khafaji, said, "The representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul Mahdi al-Karbalaey, has ordered to sponsor the entire amount of the treatment, which amounted to 23 million Iraqi dinars in Imam Zain Al-Abiden Hospital"

Al-Khafaji added that the Sheikh met with the young girl (Fadak) who was injured by indiscriminate shooting and recommended that the Zain al-Abidin Hospital bears one-third of the amount, while the office of the Supreme Religious Authority bears the second and the Holy Shrine bears the third.”

"Fadak’s father was forced to spend all his money and sell his house and car to pay the costs of treatment, and with this initiative, the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has saved the girl from disability and her family from homelessness and bankruptcy,” added al-Khafaji.
