Imam Hussain Holy Shrine participates in ‘Agricultural Week’ of Baghdad International Fair

 

The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through its Agricultural Development Department, participated in the activities of the Agricultural Week held on the sidelines of the Baghdad International Fair.

The head of the department, Engineer Qahtan Awaz, said, "Imam Hussain Holy Shrine is displaying its agricultural products such as vegetables and dates produced in Fadak Date Palm Plantation, as well as ornamental plants."

“All projects of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, especially agricultural, come to support the food basket of the Iraqi citizen, and to contribute to achieving food security,” Awaz added.

Fadak Plantation media official, Muhammad Abu al-Maali, in an interview with the International Media Center, said, "We offered the best varieties of Iraqi and Arabic dates produced by the plantation at subsidized prices."

For his part, the Director of Karbala Agriculture, Engineer Mahdi al-Janabi, added, "The Imam Hussain Holy Shrine has actively participated in supporting the local market in Karbala and other surrounding provinces, as it planted hope among people that desert lands can be invested and cultivated to be green and productive in the interest of the community and the Iraqi local market."

This is the 13th edition of the Agricultural Week and it held under the slogan, “Protecting and Supporting the Agricultural Product is a Guarantee for Achieving Food Security.”
