The Supreme Religious Authority guarantees free education and financial aid for the blind

Under the patronage of the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority in Karbala, the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine announced the distribution of financial grants to blind students at the Noor al-Imam al-Hussain Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired, for the new school year.

Institute supervisor, Saad al-Deen al-Banna, told the International Media Center, "The Noor al-Imam al-Hussain Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired provides free education and other services, including the distribution of financial grants, to the blind."

Al-Banna pointed out that "there is a special gymnasium that suits the students’ abilities, in addition to special classes that teach Braille and how to walk using the white cane.”

The Holy Shrine of Imam Hussain has prepared a special library in Braille, including the Holy Quran, to enable the blind to read and learn the verses.

The Noor al-Imam al-Hussain Institute for the Blind and Visually Impaired was established by Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in 2016 and embraces all blind boys and girls.
