The Representative of the Supreme Religious Authority, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalaey, visited the construction site of the Diyar al-Tayba Housing Project for the underprivileged,  which is funded by the Imam Redha Charitable Foundation, affiliated with the Office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Hussaini al-Sistani in Karbala.

Project Manager Amir al-Aqili said that the representative of the Supreme Religious Authority is constantly following the Diyar al-Tayba Housing Project for the underprivileged, to see the progress of work, and listen to the opinions of engineers, supervisors, and other workers in order to overcome any obstacles and find appropriate solutions to them.

“The total area of the project is 9.25 hectares, with 320 housing units, located in the south of the holy city of Karbala. In addition to the housing units, two schools, a mosque, and a health clinic are being built, in addition to three gardens that surround the complex from all directions,” added al-Aqili.

He explained that each school is 3000 square meters and includes 18 classrooms, 4 laboratories, administration offices, and a library, in addition to a five-a-side sports field, and a 550-square-meter health center, which includes 6 clinics, a laboratory, and a radiology center.

“The project is funded by the Imam Redha Charitable Foundation, which is affiliated with the Office of Grand Ayatollah Sayyed Ali al-Hussaini al-Sistani in Karbala."

The construction work in the complex began several years ago through donations, and it is hoped that these residential homes will be given to underprivileged families soon, to advance their economic and livelihood situation.
