IMC organizes forum for dialogue and coexistence to advance the intellectual and cultural reality of the youth

The International Media Center (IMC), in cooperation with the Qiyam Forum for Dialogue, launched the coexistence initiative for a number of university students of different religions and sects, to learn about the heritage and history of Karbala and the cultural movement in it.

Head of the IMC, Haidar al-Mangooshi, said, "This initiative was launched for the purpose of intellectual and cultural coexistence for a number of university youth from different religions and sects, as young people are acquainted with the heritage and history of the holy city of Karbala and the cultural movement adopted by religious institutions represented by the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, to advance the intellectual and cultural reality and protect society from the radical ideas that target peaceful coexistence amongst all sects and religions.”

For his part, Abbas Karim, a member of the delegation at the forum, added, "We attended this forum to get acquainted with other sects and religions and for peaceful coexistence with other religions, and to present a message that this nation is one regardless of religion. Everyone has the right to learn about other religions, as well as present an image to the world that Iraq is one and far from sectarianism.”
