What support does Imam Hussain Holy Shrine provide for families of martyred and wounded soldiers?

After the issuance of the eternal fatwa for defense to liberate the country from Daesh (ISIS), Imam Hussain Holy Shrine formed a brigade named Ali al-Akbar Brigade to join the security forces in the liberation of territories captured by the terrorists. After fighting in the liberation battles of Jurf al-Nasr, Baiji and surrounding areas, groups of martyrs, wounded and disabled volunteers were left. This led the Holy Shrine to take care of them through an institution dedicated to caring for the families of the martyred and wounded soldiers. The Department of Care for the Families of Martyred and Wounded Soldiers sponsors and provides health, educational and living care for them.

The Department began with a variety of programs, including (Food baskets - Eid baskets - School Supplies and Equipment–House Construction and Renovation – House Furnishing – Treatment of Sick and Wounded Inside and Outside Iraq – Trips to Holy Shrines in Iraq and Iran –Youth Scout Camps – Financial Grants) and other programs that contribute to the care of this group.

As for the sums disbursed by Imam Hussain Holy Shrine to the families of the martyred and wounded soldiers and volunteers since the issuance of the fatwa until 2019, they are as follows:

1- Aid for 1136 families of martyred and wounded PMU/security forces - 3,457,465,000 IQD

2- Financial grants for 1980 families of martyred and wounded PMU/security forces - 1,555,000,000 IQD

3- Treatment costs (inside Iraq) for 710 wounded soldiers – 240,000,000 IQD

4 -Treatment costs (outside Iraq) for 270 wounded soldiers – 1,400,000,000 IQD

5- Various subsidies for 550 families of martyred and wounded PMU/security forces (house construction, restoration, marriage grants, equipment, etc.) - 1,440,000 IQD

Hundreds of financial grants for treatment, marriage, house construction/renovation, Eid baskets, supplies and equipment have been disbursed from 2019 until now, with amounts reaching 865,000,000 IQD.

The department is open to all families of the martyred and wounded PMU/security forces for support.
