Free Access to award-winning STEM resources during the Covid-19 school closures in Iraq

The Iraqi Ministry of Education, in cooperation with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, launched the largest educational resources prepared by the UK-based Twig Education, which will be available free in Iraq.

The company, backed by top international educational institutes, runs an award-winning online resource with thousands of tailor-made films that bring subjects to life.

"Due to our concern for the future of our dear students and in order to provide the best educational means that will develop the level of education in the country, especially during the Covid-19 pandemic, the Ministry announces the launch of the largest educational resources, in cooperation with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine,” said the Ministry in a statement.

The al-Sibt Specialized Center for Research and Scientific Publishing at the Holy Shrine will soon provide the educational platforms with one of the largest scientific resources prepared by the British company Twig Education, which specializes in e-learning and visual education."

Minister of Education Ali Hamid Makhlaf, said, "This resource includes educational films prepared by the best specialists in the world, which will be available for free in Iraq so that students as well as teachers can benefit from them and use them as educational tools in the lessons provided through electronic platforms.”

Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, through following the directives of the Supreme Religious Authority, seeks to actively contribute in all fields, whether educational, health, cultural or service, especially during this difficult time, by making all its capabilities available to institutions to be in support of the plans set to overcome this crisis that afflicts Iraq and the world.
