1189 candles lit for birth anniversary of Imam Al-Mahdi

1189 candles (signifying the Imam's age) were lit for the birth anniversary of Imam Al-Mahdi (may Allah hasten his reappearance) in front of Imam Al-Mahdi Site in Karbala. This is an annual tradition organized by the Holy Shrines of Imam Hussain and Al-Abbas (peace be upon them).
