The Council of Shia Scholars in Afghanistan expresses their displeasure against Taliban's restrictions

The Council of Shia Scholars expressed their displeasure with the Taliban's restrictions on Shia rituals in Afghanistan after the Taliban ruler's announcement, which obliges Shia to keep their mourning limited to Muharram and dedicated mosques."

The governor of Kabul and the Taliban Interior Ministry have jointly committed to ensuring the safety of the Shia mourning ceremonies during Muharram and have urged the Shia youth to cooperate in preserving the rituals.

In response, the Council of Shia Scholars asked the Taliban government to unban the restrictions so that rituals would be held, as in previous years.
