A religious leader in Kashmir... Karbala's lessons aim to liberate humanity from tyranny and oppression

The Shia leader in Indian-controlled Kashmir, Masroor Abbas Ansari, said: Imam Hussain (PBUH) and his followers were martyred in Karbala to save humanity from oppression.

Al-Ansari in an interview about the importance of the Ashura revolution, said, "Imam Hussain (PBUH) and his followers made eternal sacrifices in Karbala."

Al-Ansari said that the purpose of Muharram is to learn lessons from the event of Karbala, and the primary goal of it is to liberate the oppressed people.

He added that Imam Hussain (PBUH) sacrificed himself, his family, and his 72 followers to achieve his goal: "the good of humanity."

He emphasised that the purpose of mourning in Muharram is to keep Imam Hussain's (PBUH) ideas alive to liberate the world from tyranny and tyrants.
