American-Islamic Council of Relations welcomes the declaration of Muslim Heritage Month in USA

The Council of American-Islamic Relations in Richmond, Virginia, welcomed the announcement of American Muslim Heritage Month.

Robert McCaw, director of government affairs at the Council of American-Islamic Relations, said, "We welcome this announcement as an acknowledgement of the increasingly positive role that American Muslims play in our society."

He added, "Muslims understand the importance of active civic engagement on issues of importance to all Americans."

He noted, "Earlier this year, the New Jersey branch of the Council celebrated the signing of the law of Islamic Heritage Month by the governor of New Jersey."
