Turkish delegation visits Imam Hussain Holy Shrine and tours its historical and archaeological monuments

The Media Department at Imam Hussain Holy Shrine received a delegation from the Tasnim Foundation in the Republic of Turkey, consisting of various Islamic sects, and this came in coordination with the International Media Center within its ongoing religious and cultural programs with foreign countries.

The head of the delegation, Sheikh Jafar Pande Daryan, said, "We have come from Turkey for the purpose of visiting the holy shrines in Iraq, and we were received by servants of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine in Karbala.”

He added, "After performing the rites of visitation and supplication, an introductory lecture was delivered to the delegation about the Holy Shrine of Master of Martyrs, peace be upon him, and how the Imam, peace be upon him, stood in the face of the oppressors and did not succumb to the Umayyads to show us the importance of sacrifice for the sake of the Islamic religion.”

The head of the delegation continued, "During the visit, we toured the historical and archaeological monuments of the Holy Shrine.”

Visits like these come with the aim of rapprochement between sects and renunciation of sectarianism, as well as to disseminate the heritage and culture of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them, in Karbala and the rest of the holy cities.
