Hundreds of volunteers to implement special Arbaeen plan in the vicinity of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine

The al-Warith Scouts Association, affiliated with Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, announced the deployment of more than 600 volunteers and trainees in and around the Holy Shrine, as part of its special plan for Arbaeen.

Society General Commissioner Safaa al-Bahedh said, "Following the directive of the Supreme Religious Authority’s representative and Chief Cleric of Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, Sheikh Abdul-Mahdi al-Karbalaey, the al-Warith Scouts Association began implementing its special Arbaeen plan, while taking into account the health precautions and guidelines in light of Covid-19.”

He explained that the plan for this year witnessed the deployment of more than 600 volunteers and trainees, positioned at the entrances and exits of the old city, near the holy shrines of Imam Hussain and al-Abbas to provide the best services for all pilgrims.

"More than 20 mobile medical detachments have been set up in the area, operating around the clock and in coordination with Imam Zain al-Abideen and Safeer al-Hussein hospitals to provide first aid care to pilgrims,” al-Bahedh added.

Moreover, "More than 100 thousand masks are being distributed daily to pilgrims, as one million masks will be distributed until the day of Arbaeen, in addition to frequent disinfection operations performed on local streets.”

The General Commissioner pointed out that "the volunteers are not limited to health support only, but also offer various cultural programs, including the pilgrim’s guide, the pilgrim’s ID card for children and the elderly to reduce the number of lost pilgrims.”
