Imam Hussain Project for the Eradication of Illiteracy

The Center for General Cultural Projects and Activities in the Iraqi province of Diwaniyah, affiliated with the Imam Hussain Holy Shrine, launched Imam Hussain Project for the Eradication of Illiteracy.

The project was put into action since the beginning of this year and is participated by a group of illiterate men and women.

Project Supervisor Professor Furqan Aziz and a group of honorable professors teach basic Arabic language lessons from the alphabet and pronunciations to writing basic sentences.

The aim of this project is to teach illiterate Iraqi men and women to read and write.

After graduating from the course, the Center for General Cultural Projects and Activities grants a certificate recognized by the Ministry of Education.

The two-hour lessons are offered on Fridays and Saturdays.
