Cultural center in Denmark: The Holy Shrines in Karbala have an intellectual influence on Muslim communities in the West

The director of an Iraqi cultural center in Denmark said that the Holy Shrines of Imam Hussain and al-Abbas have distinguished efforts in providing various services and establishing humanitarian, cultural, religious and service projects that are comparable to those of developed countries, indicating that the resonance of these activities exceeds the borders of Iraq and positively affects the communities in the West.

Nomas al-Kaabi, director of Um al-Baneen Cultural Center, said, “We hope that the Holy Shrines in Karbala maintain communication with the Islamic communities in Western countries, for their effective role in influencing the communities."

Al-Kaabi confirmed in an interview with the International Media Center (IMC) regarding the insult to which Islam and the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him and his progeny, were subjected, saying, “It is absolutely unacceptable. We have worked to launch various campaigns to respond to these attacks that are offensive to Islam and all monotheistic religions, whether through demonstrations or dialogue with officials, holding seminars, and educational programs, etc., to curb such attacks and abuses.”

Al-Kaabi indicated that “there is an attack by the enemies of Islam on the youth in order to detach their religious and intellectual identity and change their beliefs. Therefore, the responsible authorities, whether they are religious or governmental institutions, as well as the family, must protect the youth from drifting and changing their ideas and beliefs.”

The Um al-Baneen Cultural Center in Denmark was established in 2010. Since its inception, the center has held many cultural events and seminars to consolidate the principles of Islam and introduce the teachings of the Ahlulbayt, peace be upon them.
